2026 Tours of the Wisconsin Executive Residence

 

Please register to attend a free tour of the Wisconsin Executive Residence. Tours are conducted on Thursdays, May 28th thru August 27, 2024,10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and the last tour slot is 11:45 a.m..               

See and learn about the history, works of art, furniture, and décor inside the Executive Residence. Afterward, stroll the formal gardens outside while enjoying views of Lake Mendota.

 

Trained docents will provide a guided tour and answer questions as you walk through the first-floor public rooms, including the foyer, reception room, dining room, drawing room, sunroom, and the library. Tours last approximately 45 minutes, and each tour time is limited to 20 people.

 

Tours may not be available on some dates. Reservations are required on a first-come, first-served basis. All guests must be pre-registered at least 72 hours in advance and receive a ticket with the entry time to enter. Unregistered individuals will not be admitted.
If you are registering multiple people, you will need each person's first name, middle name (if applicable), date of birth, and state or country of residence to register them.

2025 Wisconsin Executive Residence Free Holiday Tours

Thank you for your interest in visiting and touring the Wisconsin Executive Residence. Our last tour of the season is coming up on Thursday, December 18 and registration is now closed. 

We want to wish you and yours a very happy holiday!

Register now to join Governor Tony Evers and First Lady Kathy Evers as they celebrate the start of the holiday season at the Wisconsin Executive Residence. Enjoy musical performances, a sing-along, merriment by Santa Claus, hot chocolate and cookies, the lighting of the tree, and a walk through the decorated public rooms.


This event is free to the public however, capacity is limited. The tree lighting ceremony will be held outdoors from 5:00p.m. to 5:30p.m. Afterward, guests may walk through the public rooms of the Executive Residence to enjoy the festive decorations from 5:30p.m. to 7:00p.m.

- Important Notes -

Registration is first-come, first-served, and will close when capacity is reached. All guests must be registered by Tuesday December 2, 2025, 12:00p.m., on a first-come, first-served basis. Unregistered individuals will not be admitted.


Before registering to attend, you will need to know the first name, middle name, last name, date of birth, and state of residence of all people in your party.


Guests 18 years and older should be prepared to show a government issued photo ID upon arrival. Street parking will be available on Cambridge Rd. and Lakewood Blvd.
General admission seats and general admission standing.


Please help with our Food Drive and Holiday Children's Book Drive.

Guests are encouraged to bring a new, non-perishable food item which will be donated to Second Harvest Food Bank of Southern Wisconsin and a new Children’s Book (ages 0-12) to support the First Lady's Holiday Children's Book Drive, which will be distributed through Madison Reading Project.

Tours are scheduled most Thursdays from 1-2:45 p.m., starting on May 15, 2025, and ending on August 28, 2025. Tours last approximately 30-45 minutes, and each tour is limited to a maximum of 20 people. If you would like to make a reservation for a group larger than 20 people or if you will be arriving on a bus, please call 608-246-5501.

Governor's Easter Egg Hunt

You’re invited to hop on over for all the fun and frolicking on the lawn at the Wisconsin Executive Residence as Governor Tony Evers and First Lady Kathy Evers celebrate springtime with refreshments, games, and an Egg-citing Easter Egg Hunt!

Children and their families can enjoy music, games, face painting, balloon artistry, cookies, popcorn, candy and more, including a special appearance by the Easter Bunny. All are welcome, and the Easter Egg Hunt will be for children up to 12 years old.

Easter baskets will be provided to children participating in the egg hunt.

Thank you for your interest in visiting and touring the Wisconsin Executive Residence.

Please register to attend a free holiday tour and stroll through the public rooms to experience the history, furniture, art, and legends, along with the festive holiday decorations and music.

All guests must be pre-registered and receive a ticket with the entry time to enter. Unregistered individuals will not be admitted. Tours last approximately 30 minutes, and each tour is limited to a maximum of 75 people per time slot. If you are registering multiple people, you will need each person's first name, middle name (if applicable), date of birth, and state or country of residence to register them.

Holiday tours are free to the public, and visitors are encouraged to bring a new, non-perishable food item which will be donated to Second Harvest Food Bank of Southern Wisconsin, or a new Children’s Book (ages 0-12) to support the First Lady's Holiday Children's Book Drive, which will be distributed by Madison Reading Project.

Reservations are required on a first-come, first-served basis.
